School safety threats

Posted Date: 12/05/24 (12:11 PM)

Libby Schools has recently received information regarding threats across the State.  All of these threats are suspected to originate overseas.  If Libby Schools receives a threat, we will work with law enforcement to determine if there is a concern.  Information will be shared with parents regarding any type of threat.

Below is a message from the Montana School Board Association.

We just received a phone call from Anne Dormady, the Chief of the Crime Information Bureau at the Montana Department of Justice that they are aware of three contemporary threats to school safety occurring right now, and that there are likely to be more on the immediate horizon. These threats are suspected to be originating overseas and have been received through calls to a veteran's crisis hotline.

The Department of Justice is also notifying local law enforcement and has requested that we alert members of the development and encourage collaboration with local law enforcement regarding any recommendations.
