Prerequisite: Must be 14 ½ (class can only handle 18 students on an “oldest to youngest basis”)
This is a two-part course consisting of classroom instruction and “on street” driving instruction. The classroom part of the course is designed to make students familiar with correct driving procedures, driving regulations, and other things that affect driving, such as attitudes and emotions and is a zero hour class (before school). The “on street” part of the course allows the students to put the procedures they learn in the classroom into actual practice. This part of the course, consisting of 18 hours, is completed outside regular school hours. Students should know that they may be required to make some concessions and sacrifices in order to complete the “on street” instruction. Requirements: Students taking Traffic Education ordinarily must be 14 ½ years old to qualify for the course. Class roster is made up from oldest to youngest students.
