**Honors Class**

AP U.S. history is a college-level course. Its format follows that of survey classes in many colleges and universities. College credit may be obtained if a student scores well on the AP exam given in May. The course emphasizes a critical approach to the study of history. Historiography or the study of differing viewpoints of major historians is studied in great depth. The use of critical thinking skills plus the application of comprehensive persuasive writing are an integral part of this study of United States History.  This curriculum has been audited and approved by the College Board.
